We made some cute, funny-faced onigiri (Japanese rice balls) at home this morning. I made some steamed rice and mixed in some furikake (dried rice seasoning). Then I formed little balls out of our mixture. We used some nori (seaweed) punches to make the faces on the onigiri. There was a panda, koala, and a happy face.
My little one had the best time eating everything. She gobbled up the rice as we mixed in the seasoning. She gobbled up the nori as we were punching out faces. Then she gobbled up the whole onigiri!
